These terms cover your use of Plot My Garden at plot-my-garden.co.uk. Using the site means you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
What this site is
Plot My Garden is a free planning tool for gardens and allotments in the UK. You set your plot dimensions, place crops on a grid, and it works out spacing, sowing and harvest windows, companion planting and what should follow what next season.
It is a drawing board with some growing information attached. That is all it is, and all it claims to be.
Guidance, not advice for your plot
The sowing dates, spacing and companion planting notes are general guidance for UK growing. They are not advice about your plot. Your soil, aspect, shelter, local frost dates and what grew there last year all change what will work, and none of that is something the planner knows.
Nothing here is a promise that anything will germinate, grow, or be worth eating. For a specific problem, the Royal Horticultural Society and the National Allotment Society are the places to ask. If you have an allotment, your site may also have its own rules about what you can plant or build, and those come before anything a planner suggests.
Your plan stays in your browser
Your plot layout, the crops on it and your planting dates are saved in your own browser's local storage. They are not sent to us, and we do not hold them. There is no account and nothing to sign in to.
That cuts both ways: we cannot get a plan back for you. Clearing your browser data, switching device or using a private window will lose it. Use Export JSON if you want a copy you keep. Our privacy policy explains the rest.
What we do not promise
We take care over the growing information, but we do not warrant that it is accurate, complete or current. Plant data comes from general UK gardening sources and the growing year varies a great deal across the country.
We also do not guarantee the site will be available, and we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice.
Using the site
Please do not misuse it. That means no attempting to gain unauthorised access, no interfering with how it runs, no scraping at a volume that degrades it for other people, and nothing unlawful.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using this site or relying on anything on it. That includes a crop that fails, a season wasted, money spent on seed, plants or materials, or a plan you lose.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Advertising, affiliate links and other sites
This site carries advertising, and some links to suppliers are affiliate links, which may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. That is what keeps the tool free.
Advertising and measurement cookies are only set if you agree to them, and you can change that at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer. Where we link out, we are not responsible for what is on the other end, and a link is not an endorsement.

The writing, design and plant data on this site belong to us. Read it, print it and link to it as much as you like. Please do not republish it in bulk or present it as your own.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and carrying on using the site after that means you accept the revised version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
